What is a Soroptimist? Soroptimist means “best for women” and that is what we strive for – women at our best, helping other women to be their best.
Founded in 1947, Soroptimist International of La Jolla (SILJ) is a 501(c)3 community service organization dedicated to advancing human rights and improving the status of women and girls. Soroptimists work together at all levels – local, national and international – in a spirit of friendship and fun. The Soroptimist mission is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. Open up our brochure here. |
