Service Focus for 2015-2018
Active Duty and Veteran Military Women
We are partnering with local organizations to create a positive impact in the lives of women who have served our country in the armed services. Through our strategic partnerships we are able to support local organizations to provide invaluable services to our community. We have chosen two organizations in particular who work with active duty and veteran women.

Reboot
Transitioning back to civilian life can be challenging, especially for women. The National Veterans Transition Service Inc. assists veteran women in properly transitioning to the civilian world by providing them with a three-phase intensive assistance program. They “reboot” them. The REBOOT Workshops have a 97% record of success in addressing personal, lifestyle and career transitional issues. SILJ is proud to sponsor women in these workshops and help mentor the graduates.
“There are gaps between the services and support women veterans receive and those their male counterparts receive. One of those gaps is the need for mentors, and we are proud to partner with Soroptimist International of La Jolla to fill this void.”
—Maurice Wilson, NVTSI President/Executive Director.
