On April 28, a group of SILJ members enjoyed a unique experience as part of a fundraiser Personal Project. Members Lena Turner and Sharilyn Gallison were pleased to give SILJ's Service Fund $200 from their Beading Party. The party was led by Angela, owner of Beads of La Jolla on 7730 Hershel Avenue, Suite J. Angela also donated a lovely beaded citrine necklace and matching bracelet to SILJ’s Annual Awards Luncheon.
Says Sharilyn, "$175 came from attendees (Jean, Diana, Rebecca, Ann and Lisa Marie and her mother who at the last minute were unable to attend). Another $25 donation came from Eileen who was unable to attend from the beginning announcement.
"While snacking on a generous spread of refreshments, we had a fun and creative afternoon figuring the type of jewelry to make, which beads to use and then making our beautiful creations. Photos below show the process and, in some cases, the end results which you'll no doubt see again at some of our Club meetings."
